Bluebeam Tool Chest Not Showing Imported Tools: What to Check

Confirm the Tool Chest Is Open

In current Revu versions, open the Tool Chest from Window > Panels > Tool Chest. The panel can be open while individual Tool Sets remain hidden, collapsed or disabled for the active profile.

Check Manage Tool Sets

Use this order before importing the same BTX again:

1. 1Open Tool Chest and choose Manage Tool Sets.
2. 2Look for the expected Tool Set name in the list.
3. 3Enable its display checkbox if it is present but hidden.
4. 4Move it higher in the order if the panel contains many sets.
5. 5Select OK and expand the Tool Set in the panel.
6. 6Only choose Import when the expected Tool Set is genuinely absent.

Check the Active Profile

Profiles control interface and Tool Chest configuration. A Tool Set can appear in one profile but not another unless it is configured to show across profiles. Switch back to the profile used during import or enable Show In All Profiles when appropriate for your team workflow.

Do Not Rely on Recent Tools

Recent Tools records recently used markups, but Bluebeam notes that its contents are temporary and clear when Revu closes. Move important markups into My Tools or a named Tool Set before ending the session. An empty Recent Tools group after restart does not mean the imported BTX was deleted.

Re-import Once, Then Diagnose

If the Tool Set is absent, import the original BTX once through Manage Tool Sets and test it. If it disappears again or produces an error, stop creating duplicates and use the documented backup and recovery workflow. Preserve the original ZIP and record the Revu version used for the test.
